About Alden Farris
Mr. Alden Farris, the original owner for whom the business is named, relocated the shop from Wyoming to San Diego in the early 1940’s. He opened his auto body and repair shop on 6th Avenue in San Diego’s downtown. In 1957, the shop moved to Colombia St, and then moved again to its current position at 1625 Market St in 1982. Ownership has changed hands three times since Alden Farris sold the business; the current owners have owned the business since 2002.

As a high-quality complete collision repair facility, Alden Farris will:
- Provide you with a copy of the estimate and make sure that you understand the process of repair with or without insurance.
- Only start work on your vehicle with your approval, whether or not the insurance has already given the OK and paid. Your vehicle is exactly that: yours, and we respect that.
- Use only the best products to ensure the repair to your vehicle is repaired properly and restored to “pre-accident” condition.
- Fight with you for replacement using Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts should the insurance estimate have parts replaced “aftermarket.”
- Keep you up-to-date on the status of repairs, should any unexpected delays, be it parts or insurance appraisers. Contact will be made as soon as is possible to ensure you are aware of your vehicle’s status.
- Coordinate drop-off and pick-up of the vehicle. We will help with rental arrangements and also offer a drop-off/pick-up service within the San Diego city limits.
- Manage any issues or additional damage findings with the insurance company.
